Designs By Mary - "Hi, my name is Mary Carey, and I am the owner/operator of Designs by Mary. My first real job at the age of 12 was creating embellishments for costumes for a local drama. I graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in Interior Decorating. My business began in 1978 after having taken an Upholstery Course by correspondence. I have since completed various classes and instructional webinars to improve and enhance my knowledge in the field of design and fabrication. While raising a family of 3 children, I continued to work at perfecting my sewing and designing skills through many years of practice, training and trial and error. After 31 years of experience as a profressional upholsterer and window treatment specialist, I feel confident that our staff can work with you to create your dreams to make your home or office a more beautiful and pleasing place to dwell and entertain."Designs by Mary is dedicated to providing quality products with outstanding details. To reach that end, we search out new knowledge in our field by attending educational seminars and workroom association meetings as well as subscribing to trade and design journals. Our memberships in the Custom Home Furnishings Network and the Kentucky Workroom Association provide excellent educational opportunities and important contacts with colleagues.We strive to achieve the highest levels of proficiency in our upholstery and drapery fabrication.
