Don Coffman, David Lee, and Bob Stone opened CLS Sports in 1980 at the original location on Versailles Road ( Dixie Cream's current location ). CLS began screen printing in 1984 under the name CLS Screen Printing. The sporting goods store was sold in 1988 and closed business in 1994. The business moved to its current location ( 390 Steadmantown Lane ) in 1990. In 1997, CLS Screen Printing was sold to Dwayne Cook. Mr. Cook decided to keep the name CLS because of its strong history and name recognition in Frankfort and the surrounding area. Finally, in September of 2002, after the acquisition of embroidery equipment, the name was revised to CLS Screen Printing & Embroidery
