A few years back Chef Mitch Arens, his brother, and his cousin decided to enter a regional BBQ competition against renowned chefs from Louisville, Lexington, Nashville, and Indianapolis. The three were NKY born-and-raised, so they had a passion for Southern BBQ, but they loved mixing in the delicious flavor influences of New Orleans, where Mitch had built his reputation for culinary excellence. When the smoke cleared, they were approached by the judges and told that their BBQ had won the grand prize. The judges asked what they called their team, and Beards & Bellies was born. Now Chef Mitch has brought that award-winning BBQ to you so you can taste it for yourself. Introducing Beards & Bellies Barbecue, traditional Southern BBQ with a New Orleans twist.
