Office of the Kentucky Attorney General offers various consumer protection and victims advocacy programs for the residents of Kentucky. It has various divisions, including administrative hearings division, communications office, Kentucky Bureau of Investigation and Medicaid fraud division. Its divisions additionally include the offices of civil and environmental law, consumer protection, criminal appeals and rate intervention, prosecutors advisory council, special prosecutions division, uninsured employers' fund and office for victims advocacy. Its child support enforcement commission was established in 1988 to act in an advisory capacity on child support issues to the governor, the general assembly, cabinet for human resources, Department of Law and the administrative office of the courts. The commission was also established as a forum to hear grievances and complaints and to refer these to the most appropriate agencies for action.
