If you're looking for some folksy arts, crafts and quilts, then this is probably the wrong stop. Located on Louisville's Museum Row, the Kentucky Art and Craft Museum is more focused on the education and contemporary craft and art heritage in Kentucky rather than just displaying exhibits from the past. This museum is constantly changing with three floors of exhibits, a Kentucky craft store and countless education classrooms.Best and worst time to go to Kentucky Arts and Craft MuseumNormally a weekday is the best time to go, but you might want to call ahead. Since the museum prides itself on educational endeavors, there is often a field trip or classroom full of students. When they are out in the galleries, it can be loud and hard to see the exhibits. The worst time to go is on a Saturday, especially when there is a large concert or civic event in the area. You will want to check the museum's calendar for special events and openings as they are often crowded, but this is also the time when the artists themselves might be present.Must see/do at the Kentucky Arts and Craft MuseumThe museum isn't a traditional museum with a standard set of exhibits. Instead, the exhibits and events are constantly changing, so what's inside is always fresh and new.
