The Department of Radiation Oncology offers a range of educational and training programs. It provides classes in the areas of hematology, surgical pathology, gynecology and neurology. The department offers instructions in physics, biology and conformal therapy. It manages a staff of physicists, radiation biologists, dosimetrists, technicians and support personnel. The department provides treatment services to more than 750 patients annually. In addition, it specializes in radio and intensity-modulated radiation therapies. The department is a part of the University of Kansas Medical Center, which also operates the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Allied Health and University of Kansas Hospital.
