Jefferson County Middle School is a part of Jefferson County North Unified School District 339. Located in Nortonville, Kan., the school serves students in grades six through eight. It imparts reading skills to students through phonics instruction. Additionally, Jefferson County Middle School conducts classes in art, music, physical education, library skills, science and computer applications. The school also has a library and media center that provides a variety of resources, such as books, journals, magazines and Internet access. It operates fine arts, computer applications, and health and physical education departments.
