Dr. J. Garnett is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He completed a fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia and completed his residency at Fairfax Hospital. Dr. Garnett is fellowship-trained in the management of difficult voice and swallowing disorders. He has a comprehensive team-approach to the evaluation and treatment of hoarseness, vocal disturbances for the professional voice user, paralysis of the vocal cords, neurologic dysfunction of the voice and swallow, tumors and nodules of the voice box, general swallowing dysfunction, airway obstruction and throat pain.
