History
Johnson County Park & Recreation acquired the land now known as Ernie Miller Park in 1972. In 1985 the Nature Center opened as the first nature center in Johnson County. Over the years we have added on more space inside the nature center. Most recently in 2015 we opened a new exhibit area with hands on exhibits including puzzles, a water table, touch/feel pelts and more.
