COMCARE of Sedgwick County is a mental health center that offers suicide prevention, crisis intervention, housing and other support services. Its family and children community services include case management, psychosocial treatment, in-home family therapies and respite care. The center employs more than 400 people, including registered nurses, therapists, psychiatrists and case managers. Its primary groups focus on medication, symptom management, recreational skills and prevocational training. Established in 1962, the center also provides an alcohol and drug treatment program that is licensed by Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitative Services. Its services include chemical dependency assessments and evaluations, addictive disorder treatment, relapse prevention and continuing care. COMCARE of Sedgwick County is located in Wichita, Kan.
