HistoryMcCoy Insurance Services, Inc was established in 1921 by Earnest B Heron and was originally known as Heron Insurance Service. Ernie's son-in-law Frank McCoy took over the operation in 1945 following his return from Naval duty in World War II. As the agency began to grow, Frank's sons Marc and Mike McCoy joined the team after graduating from college in the 1970's. The McCoy team was then expanded again in 2003 with the addition of Marc's son Nate McCoy and nephew Dan Dittmar and they have continued the family tradition to this day. Currently McCoy Insurance Services, Inc. serves the insurance needs of approximately 1,700 individuals and families as well as over 400 businesses in Galena, The Galena Territory and Jo Daviess County.
