The Linn-Mar High School offers classes from grades nine through 12 and has an enrollment of more than 1,600 students. It offers a curriculum that is based upon national standards, proven practices and research-driven methodologies. Its subject areas include art, business, English, foreign language, physical education, industrial technology, mathematics, music, science and social studies. It also offers advanced-placement courses in calculus, biology, chemistry, European history and psychology. The school operates a transition ninth grade transition program that includes calendar handbooks, counselors, reading specialists, interdisciplinary teacher team, homeroom advisors and academic assistance. It also provides curriculum that help students in four-year academic plans, postsecondary plans and career portfolios. Located in Marion, Iowa, the school s facility consist of a performing arts centre with a seating capacity for more than 850 people. It also consists of a gymnasium, theater, cafeteria, instructional technology center, aquaculture laboratory, wrestling room and a visual art studio.
