The Iowa Library Association, established in 1890, is the second oldest state library association in the country, with approximately 1300 members. Comprised of librarians, library workers, trustees, students, and friends, the association fosters a community of innovation and advocacy, supporting and strengthening its members to promote libraries as an essential resource for all Iowans.
ILA works towards its mission by providing member benefits such as advocacy on behalf of librarians, review resources, and opportunities to get involved in subdivisions and specialties. The association also organizes annual conferences and events to keep members informed and engaged. With the introduction of a new Executive Director and management company, ILA is committed to further enhancing its services and member experience.
