More than 25 full-time physicians and physician extenders complemented by more than 50 visiting specialists at Henry County Health Center. Services provided by the southeast Iowa-based facility include emergency, chemotherapy, cardiopulmonary diagnostic and surgical. Encompassed within the more than 73-bed facility are practices in family medicine, women s health and orthopedics. Serving a rural area, Henry County Health Center provides the community with outreach clinics, public health and workplace programs. Henry County Health Center received national attention when it was identified by Modern Healthcare as one of the top 20 rural hospitals in the United States with fewer than 250 beds. The health center admitted its first patient in 1921.
