The mission of the Council Bluffs Fire Department is to protect the lives and property of the citizens of Council Bluffs, Iowa from fire and other emergencies. The department provides a full range of life safety protection for the more than 58,000 residents of the city. The department s career personnel give emphasis to all aspects of life safety. This includes fire prevention, firefighting, emergency medical care, technical rescue, hazardous materials mitigation, disaster response, public education and community service. The Council Bluffs Fire Department operates five fire stations strategically located throughout the department s approximately 50 square-mile jurisdiction.
