Iowa State University Extension- Polk County provides research-based learning opportunities for improving the quality of life in Polk County in Iowa. Founded in 1916, organization offers programs for expanding horticulture education, as well as rural and urban communication and relationships. It provides food safety certification and education programs in cooperation with the Iowa Restaurant Association. Iowa State University Extension- Polk County offers training solutions for restaurants, fast food businesses, grocery stores and schools in more than 20 counties throughout Iowa.
