Iowa Workforce Development offers assistance with the regulation of health, safety and employment laws. The agency, also known as IWD, assists businesses with the fulfilling of their work force needs. It develops work force information and analysis data for businesses, schools and economic developers. Iowa Workforce Development provides financial, budget and human resources support solutions. Established in 1996, the agency is governed by Iowa state government. It operates a committee that identifies health and safety issues and provides recommendations to senior management for necessary corrective actions. Iowa Workforce Development additionally shares various databases with the other state and federal departments. The agency maintains a network of local centers in more than 15 regions across Iowa.
