Wabash Valley owns 156 MW of the Gibson generating station in southwestern Indiana, 160 MW of the Vermillion station in Cayuga, Ind., and is a 50 percent owner in sgSolutions. The association was formed as a wholesale power-purchasing cooperative in 1963 by five local distribution cooperatives that were looking to work together to improve their overall buying power in the electricity marketplace. Wabash Valley does not have stockholders, but is instead privately held by its members. The association is also a founding member of Touchstone Energy.
