Vanguard National Trailer was formed in 2003 with a goal of becoming a force in the North American market. The company purchased physical and intellectual property in Monon, Ind., renovated facilities and produced its first trailer, the VIP 4000, in 2004. Within a year, the company produced 3,000 trailers. The company s goal is to produce a full range of dry vans. Vanguard is a subsidiary of a major international transportation equipment manufacturer. Its parent company, CIMC Group, is dedicated to building Vanguard into a major participant in the United States freight transportation equipment industry. The company produces three models, the VIP 4000 53-foot trailer, the MaxCube freight van and the VXP Composite Plate trailer.
