History

The Downtowner Restaurant was started in 1951 in downtown Lafayette. In the early 1980's the Wheeler family took over and is still running it today. The restaurant was moved to Market Square Shopping Center in 1997 and continues to serve the same great food as when the restaurant was downtown. Recently the third generation of the Wheeler family has stepped up and we look forward to many more years to come with our customers.

Specialties

We specialize in delicious breakfast and lunch food. Our pancakes, eggs benedict, and scramblers are sure to please!

The service and the workers at this restaurant were not kind nor welcoming. They were very rude. Made nasty comments towards me. The food is okay, very hot. The ambiance was fine, cold inside.
