Our company was created in 1976 by Jeff Ollier. Jeff began his company with a small investment, a few pieces of equipment and lots of hard work. After doing residential and other small jobs for a short period, OMI began doing commercial work, on a regular basis, in 1978, building McDonald's restaurants. The company has progressed through the years building hospitals, factories, warehouses and parking garages, (see attached Prior Jobs Listing). OMI has worked on numerous hospital jobs, including Mercy Health and Wellness Center, University Hospital, St. Elizabeth Hospital, a 12 story patient tower at Children's Hospital, and a patient tower at Dearborn County Hospital. We have also built a number of parking garages, including Calhoun St. Garage at U.C., Newport on the Levee Parking Garage, Block 3 under the Freedom Center, and University Hospital Parking Garage. OMI has worked on highly visible buildings, including Newport on the Levee complex and Stratford Heights at U.C. During these years our company philosophy has also developed. We Ollier Masonry, Inc believe that we owe the customer a safe, quality job, completed on schedule and at a fair price. One of the key ways we believe we accomplish this is through retaining quality employees. We do not "hire and fire" the way many masonry companies do. By retaining employees, our superintendents know the employee's skill level, who they work best with, and how to get the best production from them. Our employees also work better as a team, because they know the person next to them. As you know, Construction work can be dangerous if the proper safety measures are not followed. The more teamwork we can foster, the safer the job is. Our average employee retention for masons is over fifteen years. OMI also trains extensively. All of our Foreman have 30-hour OSHA cards, and 85% of our employees have the 10-Hour OSHA Cards. 85% of our employees are trained in safe operation of snorkel lifts, rough-terrain, and industrial forklifts. Many employees have had additional fall protection training, scaffold training and CPR and First Aid. We also attribute our safety and efficiency to the use of quality equipment. The company owns four 8042 Skytrak, one 10054 Skytrak, and one V518 Bobcat all under five years of age. We own our scaffolding, including Hydro-mobile, EZ, and tube scaffolding. Through ownership, we believe we control the maintenance and, therefore, the safety and reliability of this equipment. We provide our employees transportation to the job site in company vehicles. This reduces the number of vehicles on the job site and absenteeism due to vehicle problems. We are committed to giving our customers quality, safety and professionalism unequaled in the masonry profession.
