New Albany Senior High School serves various students in grades nine through 12. Founded in 1853, it is one of the oldest public high schools in Indiana, and offers a variety of academic courses and extracurricular activities. Its academic courses include agriculture, business education, family and consumer science, foreign languages, science, and physical and health education. The school has more than 20 varsity sports and over 25 student organizations, including marching and concert bands, a choir, school orchestra and drama department. It has a student-operated radio station that telecasts locally produced programs and provides training in radio and television broadcasting. Additionally, it has a student-run bank, newspaper, yearbook, Web site and greenhouse. The high school offers various facilities, including a bookstore, cafeteria, auditorium, media center, gymnasium, science laboratories, locker room, tennis courts and playing fields. Located in New Albany, Ind., the senior high school is operated by New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated School Corporation.
