Market Square Arena was an indoor arena located in Indianapolis, Indiana, completed in 1974 at a cost of $23 million. It seated 16,530 for basketball and 15,993 for ice hockey, with seating capacity for concerts and events adjusted by large curtains.
The arena closed down in 1999 and was demolished in 2001. It was the former home of the Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis Racers, and hosted various events, including the 1985 NBA All-Star Game. Today, the site is occupied by a parking lot, a memorial to Elvis Presley, and the Global Distribution Headquarters of Cummins.
