Lutheran Social Services of Indiana, founded in 1951 through the merger of Lutheran Children's Friend Society and Lutheran Social Service League, is a ministry of Lutheran Church. It offers services for children with developmental disabilities and organizes camps and outings. The organization provides child care services for low-income families. Additionally, Lutheran Social Services of Indiana offers recreational, social, educational and other specialized activities. It also provides financial assistance for utilities rent payments and household items purchases. The organization provides adoption and foster care services, as well as training in parenting. Lutheran Social Services of Indiana works in association with various churches, including Cup of Kindness, Justice Bread, The Lutheran Foundation and the United Way of Allen County. It is located in Fort Wayne, Ind.
