History
The La Porte County Historical Society in 1906. The first museum was started in the 1930's and has previosuly been located in the County Court House and County Complex prior to moving into the current location in 2006.

Permanant Exhibits include: Sports Display, Recreated Barn with Farming Implements, La Porte County Industry, Michigan City Zoo, Long Branch Saloon, Child's Nursery, Scouting, Textiles, Prehistoric Bones and Relics, Natural History Rocks and Minerals, Native American, Two Operating Model Train Railroad Layouts, Technology (TVs, Phonographs, Computer) Housewares and Dishes, Art Gallery, Dolls, Jewelry and Watches, Giese Church, and Recreated Block of Main Street with Storefronts
