KIRPC (Kankakee-Iroquois Regional Planning Commission) is a multi-county governmental service agency founded in 1973, dedicated to improving and strengthening community and economic conditions in the rural counties of Benton, Carroll, Jasper, Newton, Pulaski, Starke, Warren, and White in Indiana. With the support of annual county per capita fees and individual grant administration fees, KIRPC works in cooperation with federal, state, and local agencies to assist local units of government in their efforts for community development and economic growth.
KIRPC Head Start, a program operated by KIRPC since 1997, provides comprehensive early childhood education and support services to 133 low-income children and their families across Jasper, Newton, and Pulaski counties. Through a competitive grant awarded annually by the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Families and Children, KIRPC Head Start continues to expand and enhance its program, ensuring a nurturing and educational environment for children in need.
