Peifer Elementary School, located in Schererville, Ind., provides its students skills, values and knowledge in partnership with family and community. It provides educational opportunities to students in grades kindergarten through five and its curriculum includes subjects, such as reading, music, art, computer instruction, library and physical education. It follows the Indiana reading list, designed as a complement to the state s academic standards for English language arts, and which includes a wide range of literature and selections from lists developed by professional associations. It also provides an accelerated reading book list with the recommended reading level indicated for each book. Peifer Elementary School is a part of the Lake Central School Corporation.
