Fathers and Families Center serves as a 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) agency to enhance the capacity of young fathers to become responsible and involved parents, wage earners, and providers of child support. Major activities are centered on educational and employment advancement, parenting and basic life skills training, and support services assistance. Fathers and Families Center was founded as the Father Resource Program in 1993 by Wishard Health Services. Offering self-sufficiency and job readiness training, job placement, GED preparation and other educational support, and parenting education, the program has served thousands of young parents. In 1999, Fathers and Families Center was incorporated as a 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) agency. Thousands of individuals have completed the programs intensive curriculum. Fathers and Families Center's programs and services embody employment counseling, career planning, job placement, retention services, GED preparation, counseling, parenting education, anger management, and personal finance classes.
