Edinburgh Fire Rescue is a paid standby fire department serving an area of 35 square miles in Johnson, Shelby, and Bartholomew Counties in Indiana. With a permanent population of 5,000 and over 3 million yearly visitors, they provide fire protection and emergency medical services, operating a 24-hour BLS service with two ambulances and EMT-trained firefighters.
Established in 1875, Edinburgh Fire Rescue has grown over the years, expanding their facilities to include Fire Station 1, which now serves as Fire Headquarters, and Fire Station 2 on the East side of the railroad. In 2023, they opened a new fire station to better serve the community.
