Dunkirk is located at 40°22?28?N 85°12?35?W / 40.37444°N 85.20972°W / 40.37444; -85.20972 (40.37, -85.21), primarily within Jay County but with a section neighboring Blackford County. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.9 km²), all of it land.
