ABATE of Indiana is a nonprofit, safety, educational, charitable and advocacy motorcyclist organization that promotes safety, protect rights and help others. ABATE, also known as American Bikers Aimed Toward Education, represents more than 20 percent of the registered motorcycles in Indiana, with a membership of over 27,000. ABATE has a full-time staff, more than 350 volunteer officers, and over 150 certified safety instructors, that serve the interests of motorcyclists. Its motorcycle safety division offers various motorcycle rider courses in partnership with the Indiana Department of Education. The organization also conducts motorcycle operator license testing for the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, as well as off-road rider training for the Motorcycle Safety Foundation s Dirt Bike School. Its legal services program provides 24-hour accident investigation and representation services throughout the United States. The organization publishes a monthly newsletter, Hoosier Motorcyclist for its members. ABATE of Indiana is headquartered in Bargersville, Ind.
