In 1911, Argire Lebamoff and his brother, Tom, opened their first Fort Wayne grocery store: A.V. Lebamoff Brothers. The two Macedonian immigrants worked hard for the American Dream. Just before the depression, Argire Lebamoff opened Liberty Grocery Store at the corner of Piqua (now South Clinton) and Packard. His son, George, started working at age 10, loading beer coolers with ice. After college, George launched Liberty Liquors. He meticulously cleaned his own stores from top to bottom.
