Founded in 1973, the Bloomington Developmental Learning Center is a nonprofit provider of developmentally appropriate child care services for children up to the age of 6. The center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. It features early literacy programs, including storybook reading and phonological awareness activities for infants and toddlers. The Bloomington Developmental Learning Center organizes classes in gymnastics, yoga, karate and dance movements. The center provides assistance with the development of thinking, reasoning and problem solving skills. In addition, it publishes journals that offer information on parenting and early childhood development.
