Established in 1903, AM General is one of the leading providers of design, engineering and production services and military and special purpose vehicles in the world. It also offers services related to the production of HUMMER H1 and H2 vehicles for General Motors. The company s subsidiary, General Engine Products, builds Optimizer 6500 diesel engines for military and civilian use, including marine applications. AM General s HUMMER assembly plants have received an ISO 9001:2000 certification from the International Organization for Standardization. It additionally operates a division, Service Parts Logistics Operations, which offers field service support and equipment and driver training instruction services.
