The Berto Center is located northwest of the intersection of Lake Cook and Waukegan roads, on the north end of the office park just past the Residence Inn. The center is the main training facility of the Chicago Bulls and is one reason many current and former players have lived in the Deerfield area. The Berto Center was built during Michael Jordan's period with the team; the team's increasing popularity led to a need for a private practice facility. The facility is named after Sheri L. Berto, Bulls' owner Jerry Reinsdorf's longtime personal assistant, who passed away suddenly shortly before the construction of the complex. The facility is not regularly open to the public.
