Winnetka Village Hall sits in the center of Winnetka life -- across from the Metra station and in the midst of the downtown business district. The building itself is a Winnetka landmark. Housed in Village Hall are the offices of the village cashier, utility billing, and the community development department, zoning board and plan committee. The Village Council chambers, administration offices, city attorney, human resources department, clerk and voter registration offices are located on the second floor.
Before the current building was constructed, the Village Council was housed in Academy Hall from 1899-1925. After that, the Winnetka Fire Department was located in Academy Hall before a new facility was built on the site in 1968.
