Take a step back in time and visit the Western Springs Historical Society located in the historic Western Springs Water Tower. Stuffed with memorabilia, the three floor museum has exhibits, pictures and information on the history of Western Springs. The third floor is the children's museum. Docent's are available for any questions or good conversation. There is also a walking tour available on the historical society's Web site. Donations are accepted and membership information is available online.
The Grand Avenue Community Center may be the village's oldest public stone building but a major modern addition and too many renovations kept it from consideration for the National Register of Historic Places. The two other buildings in Western Springs that have been awarded this prestigious designation are the Water Tower in 1981 and the First Congregational Church in 2006.
