The Midwest Christian Montessori Academy, off East Briarcliff Road and housed in the same building as New Song Church, is a non-denominational, not-for-profit school that has been educating children since the 1990s. The school incorporates the Montessori method, which emphasizes learning through all five senses and allows for exceptional educational, physical and developmental growth. The school is divided into four sectors -- preschool and kindergarten, which serves children ages 3 to 6; lower elementary for ages 6 to 9; upper elementary for ages 9 to 12; and a middle school for ages 12 to 14. Each sector provides a different approach that caters to the specific age group. Midwest Christian also offers Spanish, sign language and music classes for all age levels, and physical education and art for all elementary and middle-school students.
