History
Built from the ground up starting in 2017 by Gensler, Tied House operates under the same ownership as Schubas Tavern and Lincoln Hall Chicago, bridging a gap between foodies, families, musicians, and concertgoers. A tied house is a vintage reference to a bar that was contractually obligated, or tied, to a specific brewery's beer. The building, erected in 1903, was a tied house for Schlitz Brewing. It took the place of Harmony Grill, a popular brunch spot for the Lakeview neighborhood. Carrying these traditions, Tied House reflects the ever-growing beer, wine and food culture of Chicago.
