History
At Wilton, we are proud of our 85 year history. What started as a small school in the dining room of Dewey McKinley Wilton's Chicago home in 1929 has grown into an internationally-recognized school of cake decorating and confectionery art. Students from over 100 countries and all 50 states have attended. In 2013, the school underwent a significant expansion. We now have a fully-functioning kitchen, expanded storage areas and a new Baking Classroom with stainless steel student work stations, audio/visual class components, expanded student workspace, and new baking equipment. In 2014, The Wilton School was officially recognized by the Illinois Board of Higher Education as an accredited vocational school.
