The Chicago Symphony Orchestra performs at Symphony Center. The Symphony Center offers a variety of alternative subscriptions to fit personal tastes and schedules from Classical Tapestry to a Sampler Series. The Classical Tapestry Series explores the diverse mosaic of classical and jazz music, while the Sampler allows patrons to plan their own customized season of music at one time. The casual Afterwork Masterworks Series is designed with an earlier schedule and tighter budget in mind. The orchestra includes approximately 100 musicians who play strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion instruments. Classical, jazz and special concerts are among its programs. In 1997, Symphony Center's Inaugural season began with a hard-hat concert to thank all the people who worked on the design and construction of the center.
