History
St. Therese is a 100+ year hidden jewel of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Built by the loving hands and souls of thousands of immigrants in the name of our Lord, it is now a treasured testament and holy sanctuary to the needy. Although nestled in the heart of Chinatown, St. Therese is a wonderfully diverse multi-cultural family, and its reach goes far beyond the boundaries of the community by drawing in Catholics and non-Catholics from the entire metropolitan area. It cares for people in need of God's love through the ministries of the church and the extension of a school, and it keeps its doors open to peoples of all faiths and backgrounds. From its inception as Santa Maria Incoronata and through the continuum of time, St. Therese has been and will remain relevant to the greater mission of spreading God's word, serving both its community and the world, and tending to the needs of humankind.
