The Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation is a community-based, federally qualified health center and nonprofit organization that was founded in 1985. It is a network of more than 20 health centers, community outreach programs and enabling services in southern Illinois. The foundation is comprised of over 1,400 staff members and nearly 250 participating medical physicians. The Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation works in partnership with local area education and business leaders to form Archview Economic Development Corporation. It offers dental care, patient support, and mental and migrant health services. The foundation operates a transportation department that takes patients to and from doctors appointments, community health education classes and health screenings.
