History
Opened February 2019. After realizing a dream of building something in our own neighborhood, we are excited to bring the South Side of Chicago a unique coffee experience! The building itself used to house the offices of Jesse Jackson Junior. Paying homage to the African American footprint that was here before us, we wanted to create a space for the community to gather and take pride in. We were blessed to be selected as one of the winners of Chicago's Neighborhood Opportunity Fund grant in 2017. After some struggles and setbacks, we would like to welcome you all to South Shore Brew!

NOW OPEN South Shore Brew seeks to create a vibrant cafe experience that reflects, improves, and inspires the South Shore, Chicago. We'll establish a neighborhood staple that brings residents together around high-quality coffee, tea, fresh smoothies, and a panini & pastry menu. We hire locally, providing job readiness training to our 17-24 year-old employees, sourcing our team through a variety of partnerships. We'll host monthly events across varying topics with the goal to bring people to South Shore to celebrate the good the neighborhood offers Chicago.
