The Court Security Division, governed by the Peoria County Sheriff's Office, is responsible for the security of courthouse. It has screening systems, metal detectors and X-ray machines for security applications. The division also provides monitoring services in business and nonbusiness hours. The Court Security Division has duress alarms and electronic doors. It has more than 10 individuals. The sheriff's office serves a population of more than 183,433 individuals. The Peoria County Sheriff's Office s crime scene unit offers a range of fingerprinting, photography, arson investigation and blood spatter services. The office additionally provides the Violence, Education, & Gang Awareness program.
