Proton tattoo was founded by 2 childhood friends from Waterman, Il, Jon Bowman and Chris May. The 2 friends started small in Cortland Il, working with the city council to allow tattooing in the town. As time went by Proton got bigger and then worked very hard to legalize tattooing in the city of DeKalb.

Proton Tattoo is the premier shop in DeKalb, Il. We specialize in full color tattoos, portrait tattoos, traditional tattoos, black and grey tattoos an over up tattoos. We also do a wide range of body piercing. We are only a mile away from Northern Illinois University, NIU. Our artists have been featured in numerous magazines as well as the hit show Ink Master.
