Family Guidance Center
Family Guidance Centers is a nonprofit behavioral health care organization that offers treatment and prevention solutions for individuals with substance abuse and related problems. Founded in 1969, it conducts adult and adolescent care programs. The center provides community education, toxicology testing, ancillary health care, and HIV/AIDS screening and assessment services. Family Guidance Centers also administers specialized programs for criminal justice offenders, indigent adults, and pregnant and postpartum women. It addresses issues related to vocational, cognitive, psychological, legal, social, cultural, lifestyle and behavioral changes. The center offers individual, group and family counseling and early intervention services. Family Guidance Centers is funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services, Chicago Department of Public Health, and Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse.
