Pompei restaurant and pizza parlor was established in 1909 and called Pompei because it was located near Our Lady of Pompeii Church, in Chicago. The restaurant made only bread and cheese pizzas. Since then, its menu has expanded to what it is today. Pompei restaurants use a cafeteria-style setting, choose the menu items at the counter and give the servers the order. At the register drink orders are placed, silverware and napkins and pay the bill. A server brings the order to the table. Pompei has several locations in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Pompei delivers and offers a variety of banquet packages. The restaurant also caters events or family gatherings.
