History
The two owners, Lake Forest resident John Stutz (former St. Louis Cardinal), and Highland Park resident Peter Dallas (former Northern Leaguer), saw a need for quality baseball and softball instruction for kids of all ages and abilities, not only the elite players. Both Peter and John oversee the day-to-day operations and teach a full schedule of lessons. In March of 2000, the first North Shore Baseball Academy (NSBA) opened its doors in Highland Park, IL. To better serve clients in the surrounding areas, they opened a second, 6,000 square foot location in Libertyville in 2006 and they doubled the size of the Highland Park location to 7,000 square feet due to the increased demand for their one-on-one lessons.
Specialties
For over 15 years, we are the area's premier academy for private baseball and softball instruction. Our exclusive professional staff provides private and small group instruction in all aspects of the game, including hitting, pitching, fielding and throwing, to baseball and softball players of all ages and skill levels. In addition to the Academy's instruction, we provide individuals and teams with a facility where they can practice their hitting, pitching, and fielding skills. The Academy has batting cages that are open to the public and a training facility that can be rented by teams. Also, we will continue to offer our popular instructional clinics throughout the fall and winter. The North Shore Baseball Academy has two, year round, indoor training facilities located in Highland Park and Vernon Hills. Both facilities have excellent lighting and fully turfed playing surfaces.
