For all its joy, Christmas can also be difficult. The constant refrains of joy, happiness and peace can make feelings of grief, loss, anxiety and loneliness that much more difficult. We all need space and time to acknowledge our sadness and concerns - to know that we are not alone. For these reasons we offer a special Longest Night service. It is Tuesday, December 21 ( TONIGHT ) at 7 pm Metamora Mennonite Church. This service includes prayer, scripture readings, singing and communion. The purpose is to connect us with God, who is with those who mourn. God's light shines in the dark. Please join us. We will have worship this morning at 9: 30 am. We will not have Sunday school and the Fundraiser meal scheduled for today has been postponed. We're sure to have a smaller group this morning, but if you can make it in we will worship the God who knows where the snow is stored ( read Job ). The Annual Business Meeting of Metamora Mennonite Church will be held on Sunday, October 24 following Sunday school. The complete copy of the annual report is available at the church. It's also in the mail boxes of members and regular attendees. By the way, the financials aren't a secret, I just couldn't format the files properly in order to include them in the pdf. So goes the limits of pastor as web guy. Michael Neumann is a member of the MMC faith community. After recently graduating from Goshen College, Michael decided to spend the next year of his life serving in Cambodia through Mennonite Central Committee. He's doing well, but the best way for you to know that is to see for yourself. You can do that by clicking here. You will also find that Michael is a funny writer. He's already expanded my vocabulary in a good way. I also discovered we share the same fascination with monkeys. Th ank you! Those words will shape our worship and fellowship this Sunday Metamora Mennonite Church. Why? Because since 1833, persons who were and are a part of MMC have walked together, loving God and neighbor, as followers of Jesus. That's something to celebrate as we explore our past, present and future. So come ready to celebrate, to be appreciated, to share a meal together ( you don't have to bring a thing ) and to enjoy being together. If you are new to MMC, or thinking about checking us out, this is a great time to learn a bit about our history and vision. It's also a great time to get to know the people that make up MMC in a laid back atmosphere. Again, be our guests for the meal - you don't have to bring a thing! Worship begins at 9: 30 am. Following worship, after a time of mingling, we will eat together ( again, just show up, you don't have to bring a thing...have I mentioned that? ) !
